Welcome to FlashCard App ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
FlashCard App is an educational tool providing bilingual (English‑Chinese) flashcards for medical, scientific, and psychological terminology. The App operates offline and stores all learning data locally on your device. No account, registration, or internet connection is required for core functionality.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 13, you may only use the App with consent of a parent or legal guardian.
We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non‑commercial educational purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or remove any proprietary notices from the App.
All content in the App – including term definitions, translations, pronunciations, and the underlying database – is owned or licensed by us. You may not redistribute, sell, or publicly display any part of the content without prior written consent.
The App does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Learning progress (viewed terms, starred items, read counts) is stored locally on your device using Android’s SharedPreferences and SQLite. We have no access to that data, nor do we share it with third parties. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
The App may display third‑party advertisements (e.g., Google AdMob). Ads may use device identifiers to serve relevant ads; you can reset your advertising ID via device settings. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features, subscriptions, or a one‑time purchase to unlock content. Any changes will be clearly communicated within the App.
The App may integrate third‑party libraries or services (e.g., Google Mobile Ads). Their use is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR‑FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED. THE MEDICAL/SCIENTIFIC CONTENT IS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) TO USE THE APP.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted within the App (e.g., on the Settings screen). Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer resides (or, if preferred, the laws of England and Wales), without regard to conflict of law principles.
